Trenton is a rural-residential community located about 15 miles
Northeast of Scott Air Force Base on U.S. Highway 50, five miles North of Interstate
64, eight miles south of Interstate 70, and only 35
minutes from downtown St. Louis. The community offers a rural living environment with all

A Good Place to Visit - A Nice Place to Work - and A Great Place to Live !
There is a wide variety of housing available- - from new modern homes to
those of historical significance. New residential areas offer the latest in construction
and style while those interested in tradition can select an older home with plenty of
character. Multi-family dwellings are available in new modern apartments or units
converted from single family dwellings.
The consolidated Wesclin school district serves the community through
two elementary schools in Trenton and a junior-senior high school complex about three
miles south of town on Highway 160. Bus service is provided. The school district has
ranked well above state and national averages on standardized tests over the past several
years, and offers an excellent curriculum. A Catholic high school is located within a
ten-minute drive. For continuing education, there are two community colleges within 20
miles and three four-year colleges with graduate programs within about 25 miles. Closest
to Trenton, and of historical interest is McKendree College, located seven miles to the
west. This college is the oldest liberal arts school in Illinois.

Trenton is a religiously diverse community, with five Protestant
churches and one Catholic church in town. Residents can choose from a number of civic

Trenton boasts a beautiful community park with a swimming pool, covered
pavilions, lighted baseball diamonds, playground equipment, lighted tennis courts, soccer
fields and basketball courts. Golfing enthusiasts will be pleased to note eight public
golf courses within thirty minutes of town. Nearby Carlyle Lake offers 26,000 acres of
water with excellent boating, fishing, hunting, swimming, camping and picnic facilities.
Two Dentists offices, a general practitioner, and a chiropractor all are
located in Trenton. Two hospitals are within ten minutes driving time, and St. Louis and
its excellent medical care facilities are only a short drive away.
Trenton offers a public library, full-time police protection, complete
fire protection, disaster emergency services and other traditional city services. Trenton
is linked to the 911 emergency service, dispatched through Clinton County Sheriff's Office
located in the county seat of Carlyle.
